How do your beliefs and attitudes inform and expand your ability as an artist? The answers can lie in combining philosophical principles and spiritual ideals with a powerful, practical approach to shape-based painting. Take this course and watch your ability to express leap forward. We’ explore where your creativity and your belief system intersect.
In this painting course we’ll explore the intentional pursuit of the non-physical in the creative process, and have fun doing it. Come enjoy the collective spirit of like-minded creatives.
Each class will be begin with a reading
from the likes of Thich Nhat Hanh, Wayne Dyer, Albert Einstein, Rumi, Robert Pirsig, David Whyte and more. We’ll discuss and internalize something helpful.
We’ll also drill into opportunities for good design, attention to shapes, edges, values, color, line, pattern and tenets for satisfaction. You will learn or reaffirm painting strategies, techniques and practices for success. There will be a painting demonstration each day to pave the way.
Appropriate for those at all levels with some art experience recommended.

By design, this is a small workshop experience.
The workshop takes place in my own studio space, a light bright house in Encinitas Highlands within eyeshot of the inspiring Pacific ocean. Coast Highway 101 and beaches are blocks away for a stroll at the end of the day if you choose.
New: each class demonstration painting will be video recorded and provided for you to review.
Your payment
reserves your space in the workshop. Cancellations less than 3 weeks before the start of the workshop are not refundable. If something comes up and you cannot attend, no refunds or makeups, sorry. However, the workshop space is transferrable.
